Volery Gallery is excited to present Life in the Fast Lane, the debut solo exhibition in Dubai and the Middle East by acclaimed American artist Tyrrell Winston. This highly anticipated exhibition, opening on November 16, 2024, will feature 10 new punishment paintings and 2 of Winston’s signature basketball installations, offering an immersive exploration of his distinct blend of art, sports culture, and personal narrative.

The Exhibition

Tyrrell Winston’s work transforms discarded objects—such as deflated basketballs, cigarette butts, and worn basketball nets—into compelling artworks that challenge viewers to reconsider the significance of everyday items. In Life in the Fast Lane, Winston delves into the parallel struggles of athletes and artists, exploring themes of speed and sacrifice. His punishment paintings reflect the repetitive nature of success and the unseen sacrifices that lead to greatness.

Winston’s ability to elevate overlooked objects into meaningful artistic statements has earned him international recognition. As The New York Times noted, his work “transforms forgotten relics into haunting reminders of what we leave behind, elevating the seemingly insignificant into poignant reflections on human existence.”

Tyrrell Winston will be in attendance for the opening night in Dubai, offering visitors a unique opportunity to engage with the artist and his work. He will also be available for media interviews and requests.
